When I get Back to Norway

I found this charming little houseboat tied up in the harbour in Oslo. Can’t help but wonder what it would be like to toodle on up the Norwegian coast in it.

Nice and slow. And easy like Sunday morning…

  1. I used to dream of owing a houseboat on the West Coast of Canada. Then I found out the problem that lurk in the underbelly of the attractive little beasties. Still…what a great way to go to sleep every night.

  2. I don’t think I would like to own it – just rent it for the summer… But yes – I can sleep in/on boats better than anywhere. I love this little boat – it reminds me of an old VW in a way

    1. I don’t think it’s much better for folks born and raised in cold climes… I was shocked that in Maine, they harvest soft shell lobster in the winter… those poor, poor fishermen…

Me – I’d only do it in the summer as well… it would take to long and I can only stand being cold for rather short periods of time…

  3. I have always dreamed of spending an extended stay on a houseboat…part of my youthful dreams of adventure. And even now, I think that I would still give it a whirl. I’m not opposed to doing without some things as a trade-off to having the adventure.

  4. Actually, this houseboat might be a wee bit small to handle the fiords… it’s probably more of a day tripper – but I would love to do the fiords long and slow. There’s a cargo company that has cabins for visitors that does the trip – but they cost the earth so I don’t know… I might just have to do it in this wee thing…
