On the way to the balloon festival… the morning was a bit on the foggy side. Misty morning is my favourite…The swan and friends are a bit romantic The hospital in the breaking dawn – a bit sinister…

Balloons Over Waikato
I am never sure if a long weekend away, one including getting up an hour before dawn – three days in a row, hauling weighty photography gear around and having six photoshoots over 3 days is a holiday. I’m pretty sure it’s not. Though it is infinitely better than hanging around the house wishing IContinue reading “Balloons Over Waikato”
I need a holiday!
I need a holiday. Someplace where I can meet new people, do some different things, try new foods, fall asleep with strange sounds around me… This is from Cabo San Lucas. This would be a good place to go… I really need a holiday!
Sometimes things just don’t turn out the way you expected…
I have discovered, in that way many obvious things are discovered, that I am developing a photographic voice, no different than my literary voice when I used words and a keyboard to capture my flights of imagination. Now it’s pixels and software, not as ruggedly romantic as the old tools, but I like what’sContinue reading “Sometimes things just don’t turn out the way you expected…”
The lazy day adventure of Little Bo Peep
Had another steampunk adventure this past weekend with north island steampunks, having a picnic at beautiful Shakespear Regional Park on the Whangaparoa Peninsula. One Day in Goa

But… we were not interested in shopping and if he attempted to take us to one of the ubiquitousContinue reading “One Day in Goa”

Muriwai Beach
Muriwai is one of my favourite places on the planet… It’s beauty and fierceness are indescribable. Every time I am there, I am shocked by it and as I leave I am planning my next trip. It’s only an hour from home, so it’s not that difficult. The seabirds are incredible, here are twoContinue reading “Muriwai Beach”
Virtual bouquet
Beautiful late spring day. Had lunch in the village with a friend and snapped these as I walked home. Sent them to her as a virtual bouquet, but thought I’d share them with you, too.
The dock of the pond
Nice little dock, no boat in sight. Nice reflection. Got a little closer, like how I can see the stuff growing from the bottom Thought I’d walk out to the edge. Got grabbed by these willow branches… kinda spooky…
