The lazy day adventure of Little Bo Peep

with 2 comments

Had another steampunk adventure this past weekend with north island steampunks, having a picnic at beautiful Shakespear Regional Park on the Whangaparoa Peninsula. It was a perfect day in a perfect location. Perfect for all sorts of mischief, and more than a wee bit of mayhem…

18JanPicnic-1 Little Bo Peep seems a bit under the weather, but the doc seems to have the cure for what ails her in his bag of tricks. 18JanPicnic-20Our Miss Peep is feeling so much better and enjoying herself as she takes in the invigorating sea air.

18JanPicnic-31I wonder what will happen next?

Tiritiri Tomtit

Revisiting my photos from Tiritiri Matangi Island in January. The Takahe were such scene stealers, quiet little birds like this sweet little tomtit just can’t compete. Not that it’s a competition. But here’s his chance to shine.

Seagull in Seaweed copy

Working on some new techniques to get my images as sharp as they can be… and I was going for the full detail in the seaweed and the gull… Pretty good, though there’s still room for improvement.

And… it’s a pretty nice gull. In some pretty cool seaweed…

The Year of the Snake

Don’t usually post photos of the Lantern Festival here in Auckland. I always go and always bring my gear, but when I get home, the photos just don’t wow me – so this year I set out to get some different photos, something you don’t see all the time… I think I managed it a bit… at least, I think they’re decent photos… The last two are from a Tae Kwon Do demonstration

Boys have more fun

Boys have fun

They just do. And no, I’m not complaining, I’m just acknowledging my envy…

Yes, there were girls there. With their hair done, and make-up and nice summer outfits. And they weren’t having a bad time at all. I heard them laughing from time to time. But they just weren’t having fun like this.

The Urban Beach

Urban BeachWhen you just can’t get out of town, there’s still somewhere you can go. In the Auckland CBD, here is where you can cool your feet and chill out for a while
