I take photos of everything. Drives my husband mad. I’ve had friends accuse me of stopping to photograph so I can have a rest. Occasionally people get suspicious of me taking photos of sort of nothing things. Once in a while people freak when they see my camera pointed at them from my seat insideContinue reading “Great Day 4 the Sky”

Upon Reflection
Poetry is everywhere. One must make allowances for natural assonance…
Brave Sheep
Not sure when it happened, but I realise I have become quite a good animal photographer – strange because until the last 5-6 years years, I wasn’t much of an ‘animal person.’ But these days I can happily snap away, capturing the critters, letting them pull their little star turns for me. I have toContinue reading “Brave Sheep”
The Lure of an Open Door
Spied this shed quite a long ways up a hillside, used my 300 mm lens to shoot it. Not sure what it’s used for or why it’s there in the middle of nowhere. I wonder what’s inside. If it hadn’t been so far away and behind an electrified barbed wire fence, I would have goneContinue reading “The Lure of an Open Door”
It’s Remarkables
There’s a die-hard, unbreakable rule that says you can never ever expect a photo taken from an airplane window to be taken seriously. I’m in a rule-breaking frame of mind. These here are the Remarkables, part of the Southern Alps.
Aspiring bull

Frosty Flowers
Found a wee bit of frost this morning – yes, it was cold enough to see my breath and feel rather frozen. I liked it!
Tomtit!
A brillliant day – we drove to the Blue Pools. Last year it was below freezing and the area was gilded with hoarfrost. This year it’s nearly warm out – so different – especially the sandflies which think it’s still the height of summer… Never mind… I shot away, admiring the amazing blue of theContinue reading “Tomtit!”
Jalopy
Got up to shoot the dawn this morning. Funny thing about dawn – whilst it certainly did arrive, you couldn’t tell by the photos, it went from dark to light with a few shades of bluish grey in the sky despite the crystal clear morning. So we wandered down a couple of backroads looking forContinue reading “Jalopy”
Lothlorien
I don’t rightly know if the woods down here have a proper name. But in the Lord of the Rings movies they played Lothlorien. I’ve got no trouble believing there’s elves or other sprite-life dwelling here…
