Broken Bridge

with one comment

Spotted this decaying old bridge on the way down to Tongariro, but went right past. It stuck in my mind though and I made a point of looking out for it on the way back…

Can’t quite explain it, but it feels so desolate, so absolutely lost and forgotten. The stream it once traversed is dried up, probably diverted for irrigation purposes. I don’t know – no  sign of it nearby. No houses or buildings of any kind. Just this old broken bridge. Like the remains of a dinosaur.

Does deceptively safe actually mean deceptively dangerous? I wonder… This footbridge is in Raglan… it had been a gloomy, rainy day and then, out of nowhere, literally – the sun burst through… wow!

You didn’t think I was really going to stop, did you??? But Nanowrimo is coming… on the 1st, which arrives here a day earlier than almost everywhere else…
