I continue my mission to photograph New Zealand’s birds. This lovely cormorant was presiding over a mangrove mudflat at Tahuna Torea, a reserve in Auckland’s eastern suburbs. He had rather a lot to say.

Tomtit!
A brillliant day – we drove to the Blue Pools. Last year it was below freezing and the area was gilded with hoarfrost.
