Telling tales from around the world

Twilight Time

Muriwai Twilight

Okay – perhaps it was not as grey as I declared it was yesterday… but you can’t argue that there is no absence of warmth here… those waters were fierce and the wind was wild. The sky is deceptively calm as the gannets, seagulls and terns swooped in and out so fast, they don’t even show up on this long exposure…

I wish they were there. Or maybe a boat. Or a whale spouting off in the distance. You can never find a whale when you need one, can you?

  1. So true! I never find a whale when I need one either. Fortunately it’s not that often. That’s a fabulous picture. Somehow the mist seems serene, peaceful.

    • Thanks! It’s an odd thing really – the calming effect a raging sea has on one’s psyche. For me, it’s the sheer ‘other-ness’ completely out of my control in any way, that is so powerful. And it is interesting that the effect of a long exposure is quite opposite.
      Glad you’re feeling better…

  2. Oh how I love this image. You know of my long love affair with the sea. May I use it for a header image in the future?
