End of summer

Walked down to the beach early Monday morning. I was the only one there. Sad, sad, sad… Summers never were long enough.

Sorry I have not been around, but wedding are physically and spiritually exhausting! I needed to regroup and refortify…

As for the wedding… THE WEDDING… since I was not the photographer and took very few shots, I probably won’t be posting many of them here… however, this link will take you to a Facebook album – you don’t have to be on Facebook or be my Facebook friend to see them. There are only 8 images here, enough to get a taste without being overwhelmed… Click here to be whisked there…

  1. Ahhh. The heedless days of summer~! Do everything to make them last and still….away they go! I remember rushing home from school to swing in a swing just like this one. My special place on our farm for daydreams and time away 🙂

    1. I’m struggling to hold onto my rapidly vanishing summer… The weather’s turned quite cold already… I almost feel like I didn’t get one this year.

One of the downsides of living in New Zealand – the summers are so very very short… January and February if we are lucky not to have two weeks clipped off on either end. And no, the mild winter really is no compensation…

    1. I loved the swings period.

Another strange memory that probably never happened. I remember once, just once going higher and higher and higher until I went all the way over in a circle. I remember the shock and surprise and bit of terror looking down and holding on so tight so I wouldn’t fall. But I couldn’t do it again, though I tried for years. Did it actually happen? For years I was sure it did, but now I’m not so sure…

      1. Wouldn’t it be cool if it really did happen? Memory is so fickle. Let’s agree that it did indeed happen, and that it’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime things.

    1. Yeah – she’s my baby girl… I couldn’t be more proud. I think they have the benefit of being both sensible and passionate. My money is on them. I’m expecting my first grandchild in 18-24 months…
