    1. Thank you! One of my earliest memories is my Mom watching As the World Turns while she ironed. I remember being small – the ironing board was over my head – watching it and thinking how boring it was – people talking and not doing anything. And I remember hoping I would never have to grow up because grown up things were all so boring… as if that washed out black and white on the television screen was mirrored by the dullness of all the things that grown ups had to do.

      I do have my share of less than dramatic chores to do in my own grown up life, but I am happy that being a grown up turned out far more interesting than I ever imagined it could…
