New York state of mind

with 10 comments

There are so many times when I wish for a knish, smeared with mustard, so hot the potato burns the roof of my mouth, but I can’t wait for it to cool down before I take another bite so I burn it again.

I miss New York…

Paths

with 9 comments

Someone recently read me a quote to the effect that ‘if you think you are on a path, or are looking for a path then you are hopelessly lost.’ I’m not sure I agree with that – it bears  much further thought as I am rather a pathfinding person, or think I am…

Still, I’ve seen friends, loved ones and perfect strangers (come to think of it, probably even more imperfect strangers) head down paths that were obviously wastes of time or self destructive…

I do love ice cream, though.

Summer at the beach

Since we all seem to love boats so much… just a pretty picture of a picture perfect holiday village on the beach with a beautiful boat just waiting for the tide to come in and sweep it off for an adventure…

Apologies for the re-run, but it’s a bit full-on at the moment and this was taken back in 2009, the last time I was in New York. It’s a wig stand in a subway station. I do love New York!
