One is never quite ready… the desk is strewn with paper flowers guarded by a stern wooden pig giving me the hairy eyeball. The office is clean. I’m good to go for NaNoWriMo…

Yes, it’s true – I am easily distracted by bright, shiny objects. I found this fence mesmerising. And I found myself wishing I could paint one just like it – except where I live it would be completely silly and just wouldn’t do… it really wouldn’t work what with all the trees and nature stuff… but in the city… now there a fence like this really shines…

Does deceptively safe actually mean deceptively dangerous? I wonder… This footbridge is in Raglan… it had been a gloomy, rainy day and then, out of nowhere, literally – the sun burst through… wow!

You didn’t think I was really going to stop, did you??? But Nanowrimo is coming… on the 1st, which arrives here a day earlier than almost everywhere else…

Another from the Christ Church Cemetery in Russell… This just breaks my heart, for a young child. I can imagine her mother coming here and grieving. And then I think that had she not died when she did, she would still be dead now, along with everyone that ever knew her.

I don’t know what to make of that…
