It’s late, I’m tired… so something simple. With a tricky question… From a temple in Penang… I walked around this thing a few times. There was no one to ask.

What is it? What does it do? Why?

    • I do love stumbling into things like this, don’t you? there are still so many confounding things out there. My husband deals in Asian art and artefacts and he is always finding things I can’t make heads of. Or tails… Other ways of thinking and seeing.

      As for this – it obviously has some kind of functional purpose with that big, white knob. I should have taken a few more angles, but I don’t think there were any more indications than what you see there…
