Telling tales from around the world

White Heron

When I’m too tired to be clever I must retreat to the cheap shot and let mother nature do my work for me. I don’t think she minds.

And… it occurs to me I cropped this one badly – not enough space over her head – makes her look like she’s crouching rather than bending. Oops!

  1. Wonderful photo! All your picks just radiate great wisdom – not only please the eyes but knock on the heart – reflect your great mastery.
You made art by Tomas mesmerized. Thank you.

    • Thank you Tomas, but I am working toward, aspiring to, mastery. I am still a bit of a dilettante – but perhaps, that is not a bad thing.

  2. You may see a cropping question, but I only see grace and peace. This one brought a big knowing grin – being a girl!

    • I think a little head room would have implied she might stretch up and we could admire that long graceful neck.On the other hand, I am very happy with the fine detail of her feathers.
Oh to preen one’s pristine glory – unaware of how rare and precius and fleeting it is… I need grandchildren! Ha ha…

  3. It’s fun to preen!

  4. She’s lovely. Herons are one of my favorites, and this close-up is a great display of her beauty.
