It’s true – a baby seal is always satisfyingly adorable and charming and 99.9% of the time will bring a smile to your face.
In this case, the question was – what photo will I put up? I needed something punchy, eye-catching, whimsical. I hope the baby seal does the job. What do you think?
Titirangi, this is a phenomenal photo. It’s simply excellent. Is that an oxymoron?

I find no conflict between the concepts of simplicity and excellence – and together they make a very nice compliment, which I accept happily and gratefully.
Ha ha… I knew I couldn’t go wrong with the baby seal. And I was really that close to him – had no idea his mama was likely close by ready to beat me up! Whew!

Baby seals, yes, as well as otters floating while holding hands, close-ups of zebra eyes (which are mystically beautiful), and then the odd gorilla snuggling with another baby (puppy, kitten, tiger, whatever). All are always good.

I am heading off to Malaysia and Indonesia tomorrow morning. I am hoping to return with ultra heart-warming shots of orangutans, baboons, macaques or, at the very least, elephants… we shall see…

I love those shots of the elephant washers. I have no idea in which country this happens, but it seems so spiritual–this huge animal obviously relaxing to the touches of a very brave man who is lovingly washing the massive body.

Damn! They do that here in Malaysia and in Indonesia. I was hoping to get to participate on my excursion to the jungle that fell apart – and surprise you with some photos… sigh… not to be.
