Letterboxes with Love

Went out for a walk this afternoon and took photos of the letterboxes on my street. It’s a charming sort of street, mix of all sorts from rich to poor and in between with a few crazy artist or hermit types. No – mine isn’t in there… it’s cute, but didn’t make the cut.

I don’t know what #117 had in mind, but I’m glad of it, whatever it was. 91 was cheap as chips, but still manages to shine. 107 is so so posh. But I think my favourite is 76. It’s down so low to the ground, covered in cobwebs and looks like it could double as a doghouse in a pinch.

Sigh… I miss the days though when a trip to the letterbox could bring anything. Emails, while nice to receive, don’t have the same feeling. And you can’t bring it down to the beach to read.
