Telling tales from around the world

Aechmea Fasciata

with 4 comments

If Aechmea Fasciata was your teenage daughter heading out on a date, you’d make her go back to her room and wash her face and change her clothes. If she was your neighbour’s daughter, you’d shake your head and cluck in pity, praying your own never comes to this.

If you’re dating Aechmea Fasciata – you’re only discovering the true meaning of the words, ‘high maintenance.’ Sell everything you’ve got, including your soul – you won’t be needing it anyway.

If Aechmea Fasciata was your partner heading out for a night with friends, you might want to check with a lawyer. They’re probably not coming back. If they do, they’ll no longer be yours.

But if Aechmea Fasciata’s just a bromeliad in your garden, revel in her glory and give thanks she’s come your way.

    • I don’t think I’ve ever seen one quite so perfect before. It almost seemed fake – everything about it was fresh and moist and exquisite. They are always showy, but this one – well she WAS a regular hussy, nearly shrieking ‘take a look at this!’

    • Ha ha! Yes, she did… in the grand pantheon of flowerdom, she is one of the great hussies… (hmmm… I am suddenly curious as to the root of the word hussy. Something to do with husband perhaps…)
