Goa Harbour II

The best seafood I’ve ever eaten came in on one of these boats on the Goa coast. Like Pavlov’s dog, my mouth waters at the memory.

That said, the softshell lobster caught fresh off the coast of Bar Harbour in the dead of a Maine winter runs a very close second. Sadly, I couldn’t convince anyone to take me to the port when those boats came in.

I like to think that whilst the one was bitterly cold and wind-whipped in the Atlantic Ocean and the other sun-burnt and sweltering on the Arabian Sea, the souls and the spirits piloting the boats and gathering their harvest are the same.
