500!

500! Wow – I am impressed with me… Not that this is really worthy of the 500 position. But then, I’m not sure what would be. And after wracking my brain for a couple of days, realised it was too much pressure. I might never put up another photo because none would be worthy… I figure I don’t have to worry about it again until I reach 1000, which will be at least 18 months from now…

Shot this at the balloon festival in Hamilton last month… I’ve always loved fireworks – bet we all do. Happy 500 to me!

Immigration

My eldest made it official yesterday – she is now a citizen of New Zealand – swore an oath to the Queen and sang the national anthem in Maori.

It was a beautiful event, the Auckland Town Hall bursting with joy. More than 500 new citizens, dressed in all variety of native or western garb. Elderly, families, couples and single young men and women of all sizes, shapes, colours, faiths and languages. Celebrating this wonderful day.

Each person was applauded as they crossed the stage – but this gorgeous family of ten (10!) received thundrous applause as they each shook hands with the dignitaries and received their citizenship certificates. Goodness – I had tears in my eyes as I took this photo.

This crazy mad world can still be a beautiful place.
